Hyaluronic Acid
Liquid Face Lifting

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally produced substance by the organism and a relevant structural protein of our connective tissue. It belongs to the group of glycosaminoglycans (formerly mucopolysaccharides) with a wide range of biological functions. The quantitative highest concentration of hyaluronic acid can be found in the skin. In addition to that it is part of cartilages, intervertebral discs, synovial fluid, vitreous bodies and umbilical cords. The most important function of hyaluronic acid in the skin is the strong water binding capacity, which is essential as skin moisturizer.

Hyaluronic acid has emerged as miracle product concerning anti-aging procedures. It is an injectable, transparent, viscous and well-tolerated substance due its natural occurrence. Hyaluronic acid promotes regenerative processes in the connective tissue referred to as “Matrix engineering”. It can be applied as “filler” in the dermis and subcutaneously to reconstitute the original elasticity, texture und volume of the skin.

A new definition of “Liquid face lifting” has emerged because of innovative hyaluronic acid products, which made a facial 3D-remodelling in the first place possible. The treatment with these ultra-modern products (Belotero®, Merz) is nearly painless due to the addition of local anesthetics and the use of extra fine needles. Hyaluronic acid treatment is characterized by a very short “down time” and the result can be seen immediately post application.
