Micro Needling

The medical micro needling, also known as collagen induction therapy or simply needling, is the newest innovation in the field of anti aging-procedures. Epidermal micro perforations stimulate regeneration- and self-healing cascades of the skin. The effect is an intensified synthesis of collagen (type III – tightening), elastin and capillary vessels, which results in a clear, harmonious and fresh skin. Wrinkles, scars and pigment disorders can be significantly reduced.

We recommend 4-6 sessions in an interval of 3-4 weeks dependent on the indication. A particular instant effect can be observed directly after the first treatment. The maximum effect can be expected after 8 weeks after the treatment. Afterwards 1-2 refreshing sessions a year are recommended for sustainable results. In general there is no downtime, however the skin can become red and swollen for 24-48 hours after treatment.

When properly used neither side effects nor risks are known. Micro needling represents a safe treatment method in general. Small hematoma and swellings can occur 24-48 hours after treatment. Remaining sensitivity disorders, pain or wounds healing disorders are extremely rare, since the micro perforations are sealed spontaneously minutes after treatment. A tendency for increased scar formation warrants strict indication. It is recommended to use sun protection factor 30 to minimize the risk for hyperpigmentation for 1 week after treatment. Sun bathing and solarium visits have to be avoided during this time.
